Sorry, but I don't agree with the "great idea" comment. I'm a huge fan of Adidas, but this isn't something that hasn't been done before. All they did was slap a logo on some shoes. Even Crocs have some "team spirit" crap going on.
Trust me, this ain't an idea anymore. Even if they do sell like hotcakes.

Yes, I'm with kmf. Have you seen the shoes, more than half of them look awful. Some are cool, but it's not innovative and most are just extremely poorly designed. I'm pretty sure executives probably had more control in making the logos bigger slashing them across the sides, and really not giving a damn about style. But who knows?

okok..not super great but it's still better than being idle- plus they are treating it like a marketing campaign for in-store,web, and print. To make it even better, they could have gotten the individual teams to design them. And they maybe do a playoff voting system online where people vote between two shoes till there's a winner. Or they could use the team colors and not have the team logos. The logos are what really ruins them. I think the Raptors shoe above is the closest to having no resemblance to nba. Then if they still can't sell them, just make them 'limited edition' collectables and their value skyrockets. They've made a good connection with nba. Now let's hope there's going to be a version 2 that's even better.
